5th Degree Black Belt


Master Dwayne Beccue Mr. Beccue began his martial arts training at the age of 15 in October 1989. He received Shodan 1st Degree Black Belt rank in 1996.

In 1997 Mr. Beccue received his promotion to 2nd degree Black Belt and was accepted as Master Joseph Larison’s disciple. In 2001 he received promotion to 3rd degree, and in 2013 was promoted to 4th degree.

At the 2017 Master Candidate Review in June of 2017 near Mulberry Grove Illinois he received the promotion to Master rank 5th degree Black Belt. 

Mr. Beccue started teaching Karate students with Shodan Scott Ruff in rural Altamont Illinois in 1998 until 2003. In 2007 he took over the class formally taught by Master Joseph Larison at the Effingham Park District in Effingham Illinois. He continued to teach at that location until 2015.

During 2011, Mr. Beccue transferred his discipleship to study under Master Kerry Bushue. While studying with Master Bushue he learned and practiced in depth Kata application and Okinawan martial arts traditional drills and practice. 

Mr. Beccue also studied informally in various other martial arts such as Kali, Jeet Kune Do and Jiu-jitsu. He teaches self defense seminars in central and southern Illinois through Vangard Personal Defense, located with the Prairie's Edge Defense Group facility in Effingham, IL.

In 2015 became a certified Combat Focus Shooting Instructor and is currently teaching Combat Focus Shooting courses.  He holds NRA Basic Pistol instructor certificate and also is a certified Illinois Concealed Carry instructor and actively teaches concealed carry certifications classes and defensive firearms classes.

He lives with his wife and son in Shumway Illinois and has been employed as a Telecommunications Technician in Effingham Illinois for the last 21 years.
